At Naxos
Arrived today at Naxos by plane from Athens. Waiting for my ferry to Schinoussa, the nearby island where we'll do the swims. This morning, I walked around the Akropolis and Agora. It was just incredible to see what ancient greeks did.

More flowers
They are so bizarre looking, but I'm starting to like them a lot lately... Their color, their texture, their angles. They are really interesting!
The dog park
The little street behind my building has been the spot for Himi and I to go every morning. It's full of blooming wild flowers right now. We'll surely miss this park when we move in a couple of weeks...
The cove
I swam in the cove Sunday after at least a four month hiatus. The water is still below 50 degrees so it was not comfortable at all, but the exhilarating rush is incredible as I remembered.

Dolphin club swim
It's been a long few months, but I've finally returned back to the club for a swim today. I was right! Even at 53 degrees, I was very very cold... But glad I did swim :)

Driving to walnut creek
The funny thing is that, by the time I arrived in Walnut Creek Pool, the sun was shining, and during my 1 hour workout, I got a little bit of a tanline!!!!To swim, then to visit my girl who's been staying with Rich during the open house period.
So after our swim at Clambake, we were HUNGRY!!! We decided that we needed to get something in our stomachs really really fast. The first thing we saw that was reasonable was a Chinese buffet; knowing that it can be awful, we drove into the restaurant... while it was not a gourmet Chinese restaurant, the food hit the right spot in our stomachs ;-) Jason here gulping down the food like I was on the other side of the table.
Mori at the pool... For the first time in my life, I received a 1st place award! It was the first place award in 400IM - I didn't check, but I believe I was the only person in my age group who competed in 400IM, so of course, it would have been natural... but I have to give myself some credit to swimming an event most people hate ;-) The 400IM wasn't easy... but I'd say it was easier than the 200IM since you can take it really slow at the beginning during the butterfly. Also, I received two other 2nd place awards in 500 free (swam backwards) and 1,000 free.

At the meet
Just arrived at the meet. These innocent boys have no idea what's in store for them today. Jason's swimming the 500 free, 200 breast, 100 back, 200 butterfly, and 1000 free, mori's swimming the 500 free (but swimming backstroke), 400 IM (first time ever) and the 1000 free,

Carmel beach
We took a walk on the sunny beach after arriving in Carmel. We still had some time before dinner. Himi loved the sand as usual, and we enjoyed the fresh air :)
Naru
On 12/31, Jason had to work, so Naru and I went for a drive to the Golden Gate Park to take a walk.
